Employee Spotlight

Jason has been with the Food Bank for more than ten years. He has served our mission in a number of roles and is now the Director of Food Procurement and Processing. Jason works tirelessly to ensure the Food Bank can provide food to our neighbors in need throughout the 93 counties we serve. His favorite part of working at the Food Bank is our mission and the people who work here. "Those two things made me fall in love with Food Bank for the Heartland a long time ago. My feelings have only become more intense over the years. I am truly proud to work for this organization." Jason loves Duke basketball and enjoys cooking. His favorite dish is grilled chicken breast, air-fryer cauliflower, baked potato, and garlic bread.

I love working at the Food Bank because you're able to help so many people and so many demographics at once. It's very rewarding. I also love meeting the volunteers and seeing their dedication to our mission.

I am extremely passionate about our mission. I believe that access to healthy food is a fundamental right as a human being. As a person who has struggled with food security, I understand the panic and hopelessness you feel when you are not able to meet your families most basic needs.

I love working with our Network Partners in my area (northeastern Nebraska) and serving to the best of my ability to help fill the food insecurity gaps in our rural communities.

Food Bank for the Heartland doesn't just talk the talk, it walks the walk. Working here feeds my soul. Serving the Nebraska community is my passion! I love to help and be an integral part in making a difference no matter how small it may be.

I love being able to help those in need of any type of assistance and enjoy the interaction with those individuals.

I love that every day I get to collaborate with a great team who is dedicated to serving others. I'm constantly inspired by the staff, volunteers, donors, and Network Partners who work collectively to make the Heartland a better place.
