In August 2024, Ella-Kathryn Anderson was crowned Miss Omaha’s Teen 2025, and since then, she’s turned her passion for nutrition into a purpose. Ella-Kathryn—who’s originally from Scottsbluff—is working to raise awareness around food insecurity in Nebraska and using her voice to advocate for Heartland neighbors in need.
On March 17, 2025, Ella-Kathryn joined Food Bank for the Heartland to visit the State Capitol. While there, she met with the Governor’s Agricultural Policy Advisor, several Nebraska senators, and Food Bank President & CEO Brian Barks to learn more about the growing need across its service area.
Ella-Kathryn is excited to use her platform to engage others and spread awareness of this important topic, to ensure that Heartland individuals and families have the nutritional resources they need to thrive.
We are grateful to Miss Omaha’s Teen for her passion and dedication to fighting hunger. We can’t wait to see what she accomplishes and look forward to working with her in the future.
