In the wake of the destructive storm that moved across portions of Food Bank for the Heartland’s service area on March 19, 2025, we continue to work closely with our partners to ensure neighbors affected by the storm have access to the nutritious food they need to thrive.
If you or someone you know needs assistance, we’ve provided a list of local resources below.
Additionally, anyone who has lost food purchased with SNAP due to a power outage may be eligible for replacement SNAP benefits.
SNAP Program participants who had a power outage (lasting more than four hours for refrigerated food or 24 hours for frozen food) may be eligible. The loss must be reported within ten days to your state’s health department and will require a physical signature.
