Here for the Heartland

Volunteer holding fresh produce

Our hearts are with everyone who has been affected by the severe weather and tornadoes that struck our communities on April 26, 2024. Food Bank for the Heartland is working closely with first-responder organizations like the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and local police and fire departments to provide food, water, and additional resources to affected communities.

If you or someone you know needs assistance, we’ve provided a list of local resources below. Our team is here for the Heartland. We are ready to provide immediate relief and ongoing recovery assistance to our communities during these challenging times.

How you can help

Food Bank for the Heartland is working with state and local governments, first responders, and our Network Partners to identify areas of critical need to deploy food and water effectively to communities impacted by the storm.

You can  help by making a monetary donation. A gift of $1 can provide more than three meals. Please click here to donate today.

For food donations, blue collection barrels have been placed at all Baker’s locations across the Omaha metro. Donations are also accepted at the Food Bank (click here to learn more). We are seeking donations of snacks, bottled water, and other non-perishable items.

Please continue to visit this page to learn more about ways you can get involved and help us support our affected communities in the weeks and months ahead.
