Food Bank remembers former President & CEO

Susan Ogborn

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Food Bank for the Heartland’s former President and CEO, Susan Ogborn. Susan was instrumental in shaping the Food Bank’s legacy, serving as our fearless leader from 2009 until her retirement in 2018.

So much of our success today is credited to Susan’s tenure. Her determination and passion for food security forever transformed the Food Bank’s brand, operations, and strategic vision in how we fight hunger.

We had the opportunity to interview Susan in the fall of 2022 for our 40 Faces of 40 Years project—which focuses on those who’ve made a lasting impact on the Food Bank’s legacy.  Susan fit the criteria perfectly. Though four years had passed since her retirement at the Food Bank, our interview was filled with laughter and joy as she discussed the memories made, the relationships built and the challenges she (and the team) overcame together.
