Cubby’s Kicks Off Campaign to Help Fight Hunger Across the Midwest
OMAHA, NEBRASKA (March 19, 2025)—The team at Cubby’s Convenience Stores is committed to fighting hunger. That’s why they’re joining forces with food banks across the Midwest—including Food Bank for the Heartland—for a register round-up campaign at all Cubby’s locations in Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. Now until the end of the year, customers can round up their purchases to the nearest dollar during checkout to support the campaign. All funds collected at stores will go directly to partner food banks serving their local communities.
Officials at Food Bank for the Heartland say this campaign comes at a crucial time, as they’ve seen a tremendous rise in food insecurity levels across the Heartland. “We’re currently serving quadruple the number of households as we did during the pandemic,” says Brian Barks, President and CEO of Food Bank for the Heartland. “With 1 in 8 individuals and 1 in 5 children experiencing food insecurity, fighting hunger in our communities takes strong collaboration. We are grateful to Cubby’s for their dedication in supporting our mission, and our neighbors in need.”
Cubby’s hopes that through the generosity of its customers—it can make a lasting impact in the fight against hunger. “Our local food banks play a critical role in helping families who don’t have enough to eat. We wanted to use our platform to assist in the mission of making sure that Heartland families don’t go hungry. We believe our round-up campaign is a great way to fill that need,” says Delone Wilson, President of Cubby’s Convenience Stores.
The campaign will run through December 31st in all Cubby’s locations.
