Food Bank for the Heartland’s “Foodies” is an organization of volunteers dedicated to the support of the Food Bank through volunteerism, fundraising, and the promotion of community awareness. The Foodies are close-knit, committed to the Food Bank’s mission, and driven to help our neighbors who experience food insecurity.

Becoming a Foodies member benefits you and the community
A Foodies membership offers volunteer opportunities, a connection with other community volunteers, and involvement in Food Bank special events. Currently, there are more than 200 members.
Become a Foodie and get involved by:
- Volunteering for hands-on activities at the Food Bank—including in our Volunteer Center
- Supporting the BackPack and Mobile Pantry Programs
- Participating in funds and food drives like Grocery Games and the PB&J Challenge
- Volunteering at and attending events like Celebrity Chef, Cocktails & Cans, a fall fundraiser and more

A Generous Pour 2023
Join the Foodies on Thursday, November 2 for A Generous Pour. The evening features a wine tasting, appetizers, and unique auction items, all while supporting Food Bank for the Heartland.
Peanut Butter & Jelly Food Drive 2023
Support the Food Bank from September 15-29, 2023 by contributing plastic jars of peanut butter and jelly during the Foodies PB&J drive.

Hunger is with us 365 days a year. By becoming a Foodies GEM (Give Every Month), you can provide critical nutrition to children, families, seniors, and veterans in need across the Heartland each month. Plus, Foodies GEMs are automatically part of the Food Bank’s Meal Makers group, which provides you with year-end gift statements, reduced solicitation mailings, annual impact reports, priority invitations for special events and volunteer opportunities, and the ability to manage your account online.

5th annual Foodies Grocery Games
The 5th annual Foodies Grocery Games runs May 28 through June 4, 2023. This year’s goal is $20,000 to help the Food Bank provide up to 80,000 meals to neighbors across the Heartland.
Cocktails & Cans 2023
Please join us on March 30 for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and live music. There will also be an opportunity to volunteer!
