In continuing to prioritize health and safety of our partners, clients, volunteers and employees, Food Bank for the Heartland is closely monitoring the rapidly changing situation concerning the possible community transmission of COVID-19 and will continue to communicate any changes we experience to our partner agencies, volunteers and other stakeholders.

Food Bank for the Heartland remains open and distributing food to partners and programs, including the BackPack, Kids Cafe and Mobile Pantry programs. The Food Bank continues to work closely with school districts, after school programs and other organizations regarding distribution of meals to children, families, seniors and others who need them.

Food Bank for the Heartland continues to follow USDA safe food handling guidelines which emphasize the importance of personal hygiene while handling food products.

Volunteer shifts in our Volunteer Center continue as scheduled to facilitate the uninterrupted distribution of food to partner agencies and programs, ensuring that we continue to assist our neighbors experiencing hunger, even during COVID-19. If you need to change or cancel your volunteer opportunity, you may do so through your registration confirmation email or by calling (402)331-1213.

The Food Bank continues to follow the directives from the CDC and local Health Departments.

Please be mindful and practice safe personal hygiene practices including frequent hand washing for more than 20 seconds with soap and water as well as refraining from touching your face (mouth, nose and eyes). If you exhibit symptoms, please contact your health care provider immediately. (No requirements to attend)

Please take precautions and check back for additional updates as the information available continues to evolve.
